About

Hello, I’m Lizzie and I offer you a warm welcome to Bear Counselling.

I’m a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor, offering online and telephone therapy for adults and young people, seeking a calm and compassionate space to reflect, heal, and reconnect.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I work in line with their ethical framework to provide a safe, confidential, and supportive environment.

My approach is integrative, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic perspectives to find what best supports you — working together in a way that feels natural, respectful, and attuned to your needs.

My
Approach

At Bear Counselling, my approach is built on compassion, accessibility, and connection.
I know that reaching out for support can take courage, and I want that step to feel as gentle as possible.

Our sessions are led by empathy, curiosity, and respect for your lived experience.
Rather than offering quick fixes, we focus on creating an environment where insight and healing can unfold at your own pace.
You are the expert on your own life — we’re here to walk alongside you as you find your way forward.

What You Can Expect

In our work together, you’ll find:

  •  A calm, non-judgemental space to talk, think and explore.

  • Support for carers and for everyone, recognising that care goes both ways.

  • A flexible, accessible approach shaped around your needs and comfort.

  • Gentle, reflective conversations to help you make sense of what’s happening in your world.

Our aim isn’t to “fix” you — it’s to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered to care for your own wellbeing.

Who I work with

At Bear Counselling, I offer a calm, nurturing space for adults, teenagers, and young people (12+).
Whether you’re caring for others, exploring your identity, or simply needing time for yourself, this is a space where your wellbeing matters too.

Carers & Parent Carer's

Caring for someone can be both meaningful and overwhelming. You may feel tired, anxious, or unsure where to turn. Counselling offers a chance to pause, focus on your own wellbeing, and explore compassionate boundaries. Together, we can find space for you — helping you reconnect with yourself while continuing to care for those you love.

Neurodiversty & Accessibility

I’m passionate about making counselling accessible and affirming for everyone. With lived and professional experience, I understand how important it is to feel accepted as you are. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or exploring your neurodiverse identity, sessions are adapted to your needs — including sensory considerations and pacing — creating a space that feels safe, empowering, and truly your own.

Young People (12+)

I offer counselling for young people aged 12 and above, providing a calm and understanding space to talk about whatever feels difficult. You might be navigating friendships, identity, or new experiences — you don’t have to do it alone. Sessions are gentle, supportive, and designed to help you explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

Sessions & fees

At this time, I am offering online or telephone counselling to clients based in the UK. To discuss your counselling needs, please get in touch and we can arrange a free 15 minute consultation to explore your reasons for coming to counselling. Counselling is a place to be vulnerable and as a client you have autonomy over who the person you want to explore with. By completing a consultation, we can decide whether I am the best person to support you.
